Anti-Ragging Committee

Anti-Ragging Policy & Committee

CDS College of Engineering maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form — verbal, physical, psychological, or online. Ragging is a criminal offence under the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act and UGC/AICTE regulations. The college is committed to providing a safe, respectful environment where every student can pursue engineering education without fear of harassment or humiliation by seniors or peers.

Upon admission, every student and parent/guardian must submit a signed anti-ragging affidavit as prescribed by AICTE. Orientation programmes explicitly communicate prohibited behaviours, reporting channels, and disciplinary consequences. Hostel wardens and faculty mentors monitor student interactions, especially during the induction period.

Anti-Ragging Committee & Squad

An Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad are constituted each academic year as per UGC and AICTE norms. The committee includes the Principal as chairperson, faculty representatives, non-teaching staff, parent representatives, and student representatives. The squad conducts surprise visits to classrooms, corridors, canteen, and hostel areas.

Committee contact details and member names are displayed on the campus notice board and updated on this page when the new committee is notified. Email: helpdesk@cdscollege.in (subject: Anti-Ragging).

Committee Members

Committee member names will be published here upon formal notification each academic year. For immediate assistance, contact helpdesk@cdscollege.in.

Anti-Ragging Affidavits

Download student and parent/guardian affidavits from the Downloads page when published.

How to Report Ragging

Any student, parent, or staff member who witnesses or experiences ragging should report immediately — do not wait. Reports may be made confidentially.

  • National Anti-Ragging Helpline: 1800-180-5522 (24×7 toll-free)
  • UGC Anti-Ragging Portal: www.antiragging.in
  • College Helpline: Contact the Principal’s office or hostel warden during campus hours
  • Email: helpdesk@cdscollege.in with subject line “Anti-Ragging Complaint”

All complaints are investigated promptly. Proven ragging incidents result in disciplinary action ranging from suspension to expulsion and criminal prosecution as applicable. The college protects complainants from retaliation.

Preventive Measures

CCTV surveillance in common areas, buddy systems for first-year students, senior-junior interaction under faculty supervision, and regular awareness workshops reinforce our preventive approach. Ragging-free campus certification is pursued as per AICTE timeline for new institutions.
